Spanish & Romantic
“Hanging Edison light bulbs, exposed-brick walls and dark-wood furnishings set the tone at this buzzy, romantic South Norwalk wine bar, where Spanish tapas and Mediterranean entrees are paired with a lengthy vino list and cocktails.” — Zagat Review
For this project, I was hired by a successful restaurant group to create their new Spanish-influenced restaurant’s identity and website. I worked with an additional designer to create the restaurant’s identity; facilitating the creative process and directing the project.
When the project began, the restaurant was a large debris-filled room with several months of renovation afoot. I worked with one of the restaurant partners to understand their grand vision and then translated it into a brand. The most difficult aspect of this project was designing a brand and coordinating signage without ever seeing renderings or the completed renovation.
I then worked with the restaurant team to understand their needs for a website. After creating an information architecture, I laid out the necessary pages and information blocks. I also photographed the restaurant and food to showcase the environment as well as food presentation. I edited the photos and consolidated all of the content I needed to create their website.
